Users use the AEK NetTest web and/or mobile application to test the quality and capacity of their broadband Internet connection and can use it at their own discretion. Children under the age of 14 can use AEK NetTest with the consent of their parents or legal guardian.
Using AEK NetTest on mobile devices may cause consumption of a certain amount of data. Using it in 3G technology, a typical amount of data would be between 5 and 10 MB. For LTE network it can exceed 100 MB. Both assumptions are made using high-quality services. The Agency for Electronic Communications (AEK) as a regulatory body, does not take responsibility for the consumption of data by users, and thus the associated/additional costs.
Before using AEK NetTest, the user is obliged to accept the terms of use, privacy policy and cookie rules, as well as declare that he is above the age limit required to use AEK NetTest. Consent may be withdrawn at any time as defined in the Privacy Policy. In order to provide users with the greatest possible transparency and information, while respecting their privacy, AEK NetTest is based on the principle of open source and open data.
Copying, modification or processing in modified or unmodified AEK NetTest logo and AEK NetTest font is strictly prohibited. AEK expressly disclaims responsibility for any content on linked pages that has changed since the launch of the service. The accuracy of the content is always the responsibility of the respective website provider or operator. AEK does not accept any responsibility and/or guarantee for this. AEK expressly reserves the right to change, add or delete parts of AEK NetTest or the entire AEK NetTest application without prior notice. AEK will endeavor to ensure the continuous availability of the AEK NetTest web and mobile application and that the AEK NetTest application is constantly current, complete and accurate. To ensure accuracy of results, unusable and/or obviously offensive measurements may be flagged and/or removed by AEK.
AEK reserves the right to initiate appropriate legal actions in case of non-compliance. As a basic principle, no claims may be made against AEK due to material or immaterial defects and/or losses caused by the use or non-use of the information provided or by the use of incorrect and incomplete information.
AEK expressly reserves the right to change, add or delete parts of AEK NetTest or the entire AEK NetTest offer without prior notice, or to temporarily or permanently discontinue its publication.
According to the open source principle, this means that the source code of the AEK NetTest software is publicly available and that AEK has placed the components it has developed under an open source license, i.e. Apache License Version 2.0 (https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). However, it should be noted that when using the AEK NetTest source code, other licenses may be required. The AEK NetTest logo and the AEK NetTest font are not subject to the principle of open source and open data and copying, modification or processing of the logo and font in a modified or unchanged form is prohibited. AEK NetTest data listed under https://nettest.aek.mk/opendata can be returned as open data and are under Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 North Macedonia (CC BY 2.5) Licenses (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5/mk/legalcode.mk) are thus freely available to the general public for information, use, and application in other applications.

AEK NetTest applications and web version may be used only after express agreement with the AEK NetTest Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for AEK NetTest. Without it, AEK NetTest cannot be used.
By accepting the General Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, users expressly accept that the Competent Authority (as a personal data administrator) collects and processes their personal data for the purposes processed by AEK NetTest. Acceptance (YES / NO) is entered for the purpose of proving acceptance of the terms of use and privacy policy.
When changes are made to the processing and transmission of data (related to updates or new releases of AEK NetTest), users will need to renew their acceptance of the General Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. With AEK NetTest, the following data is processed:
latency, speed and amount of data transmitted in both directions (link / uplink);
Features of quality, transparency and reliability (e.g. signal strength, connectivity on different ports, content modifications, referral webpage upload time, traffic volume, server monitoring on server, Traceroute, VoIP test call)
test parameters (test method, test progress, test server, test configuration (eg. test duration));
randomly generated client ID (client UUID) and number of tests performed;
Public Client ID (changed every 24h);
Client synchronization code and client information (language, local IP, version, test time and time period);
Network Address Translation Mechanisms (NAT / PAT) indicator;
IP address used (IPv4);
Public IP address of the user;
VLAN network ID (WiFi SSID), numeric VLAN ID (WiFi BSSID), and encryption type;
Name and country of the service provider;
Client’s geographical location and direction of movement;
Client location (if known) / time zone
Client location meta information (e.g., location accuracy, location repair method, distance covered)
Device / model type, OS / AEK NetTest version of the application;
Public measurement ID (generated by each measurement);
Anonymous public IP address (hidden last octet).
